Role overview
As the Assistant Regional Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for spotting opportunities, shaping partnerships, negotiating commercial terms, and building strategic agreements that support growth across the region. You will serve as the primary contact for clients and work to steadily improve customer satisfaction.
This is a cross-functional commercial position that requires independent execution and active contribution to initiatives that help market products through customers and distributors. In commercial deal-making, you will coordinate the choice of sourcing brewery and help design the route to consumer in a way that maximizes distribution efficiency, customer satisfaction, and cost effectiveness. The role also supports commercial development behind brands and initiatives that generate sustainable return on investment while leveraging existing brand assets.
Primary responsibilities
- Lead and monitor sales delivery for markets outside the currently assigned list through market-based distributors, ensuring alignment with business plans and commercial targets.
- Work with distributors and market managers on launch geography, sales forecasts, market share goals, penetration targets, and profitability.
- Share accountability with country sales teams for performance against plan, including brand mix, disposable utilization, and competitor intelligence.
- Build cluster management approaches, set market product pricing, and ensure pricing follows established guidelines.
- Create and sustain profitable partnerships with distributors and local market teams to stay close to market and industry developments.
- Support promotional events and trade shows that help grow penetration for new products alongside business partners.
- Communicate, train, and document programs and support tools using market research and feedback from customers and the sales force.
- Develop channel partnerships that increase revenue, improve customer satisfaction, and strengthen long-term relationships, while also evaluating distributor performance and coaching them toward greater professionalism.
- Negotiate and finalize agreements with overseas customers and distributors, including renewals and terminations when required.
- Review and refine the value chain and trading terms structure for efficiency and effectiveness.
- Support below-the-line market activity with Marketing by aligning sales-led calendar activities to shopper drivers.
- Help shape the trade marketing strategy using data to meet business goals across product categories.
- Own the development, execution, and performance tracking of programs designed to increase presence and off-take in priority markets.
- Oversee the total advertising and promotion budget and ensure execution meets standards.
- Set channel strategies with market managers and track the rollout of associated plans.
- Assess the return on investment of trade promotions to maximize impact.
- Contribute to the design of promotional materials under marketing supervision and coordinate with market managers to monitor promotional execution.
- Support the creation of trade promotional plans with market managers.
- Work with the consumer planner and market managers to use category and shopper insights to improve performance.
- Act as the sales contact for the company’s overall digital strategy.
- Prepare market budgets and maintain disciplined budget control.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate projects and plans that support commercial objectives at different levels.
- Manage initiatives that advance company goals, improve market share, raise customer satisfaction, and enhance productivity.
- Work to improve Net Promoter Score and strengthen customer satisfaction.
Secondary responsibilities
- Identify performance gaps and pursue continuous improvements.
- Provide leadership in translating marketing strategy into practical programs and execution.
- Coordinate with Sales and Marketing on selected projects and initiatives within the assigned channel, including sales needs, marketing priorities, legal considerations, and budget control.
- Develop, communicate, and deliver plans for new products.
- Monitor, implement, and refine processes connected to Marketing and Sales to improve commercial efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in field sales, sales management, or marketing in a similar environment.
- Strong background in solving business problems, building solutions, segmenting markets, and carrying out financial analysis.
- Proven success in delivering marketing programs, with solid knowledge of marketing principles and experience applying them in demanding, fast-moving settings.
- Deep understanding of marketing and research analysis methods, including segmentation, profiling, and modeling, plus strong data analysis skills.
- Strong awareness of market trends and consumer changes, with the ability to respond to shifting preferences and needs.
- Good grasp of the company’s business strategy, competitive landscape, and industry direction to anticipate needs and create suitable goals and actions.
- Experience in key account management within FMCG or consumer goods.
- Solid understanding of ecommerce channels and knowledge of the APAC market.
- Demonstrated ability to improve customer satisfaction in a structured and consistent way.
