Assistant Dock Master

Role Overview

The Assistant Dock Master is responsible for supporting the planning and execution of vessel docking and undocking operations to ensure they are completed safely and efficiently. This role involves close coordination with multiple departments including production, engineering, project management, and health, safety, and environment (HSE) teams to facilitate smooth docking activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in organizing and carrying out docking and undocking of vessels in accordance with operational protocols.
• Liaise with production, engineering, project, and HSE personnel to coordinate docking tasks.
• Ensure the dock is properly prepared, manage ballast arrangements, and oversee other docking logistics to meet operational needs.
• Supervise docking proceedings to guarantee compliance with established safety rules and company policies.
• Support the inspection processes of docks, associated equipment, and facilities.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to docking operations.
• Work alongside the Dock Master to ensure docking activities are completed on schedule while minimizing any operational risks.

Candidate Requirements

• Possess a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering or a closely related field.
• Have at least 8 years of experience working in shipyard or drydock operations.
• Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of vessel docking procedures, marine safety standards, and overall dock management.
• Exhibit strong skills in planning, coordination, and communication.
• Be capable of working collaboratively across teams in a dynamic and fast-moving shipyard environment.
