Job description
About the role
The Aviation Industry Division works to strengthen Singapore’s aviation hub and support its long-term expansion, competitiveness, and transformation.
What you will do
In this position, you will help shape and deliver sector development efforts for the air transport industry, with a strong focus on air cargo and ground handling. A major part of your work will involve building partnerships and managing relationships with key aviation stakeholders.
You will also contribute to the creation and execution of industry development policies aimed at supporting the air hub’s growth, especially in areas such as airport operations transformation and air cargo development. This includes preparing policy papers and presentation materials that clearly explain policy choices, strategic direction, and transformation plans.
Another important aspect of the job is reviewing and assessing grant proposals from aviation companies that seek support for capacity building and service innovation. You will help companies design and carry out new solutions that improve passenger experience and airport operations through automation and digital adoption, while also administering grants used to accelerate these initiatives.
In addition, you will collaborate with internal CAAS divisions and colleagues to monitor the outcomes of innovation, productivity, and grant-funded projects, ensuring the sector remains resilient and ready for the future. You will also work with external government partners such as EDB and JTC.
Requirements
The ideal candidate should have training in any discipline, with a preference for Business, Economics, or a related field.
A minimum of 5 years of work experience is required, including 2 to 3 years in public policy. Experience in industry development or account management would be especially useful.
You should be able to work independently, show initiative, and take a proactive approach to identifying partnership opportunities with a wide range of stakeholders.
Strong written communication and presentation skills are important, along with the ability to express ideas clearly and concisely.
You must also be a strong team player who can work effectively with multiple stakeholders across public and private sector organisations.
The role calls for someone who is meticulous, self-driven, and resourceful.
