Role overview
As an Assistant Cashier with Brink’s Inc. in Barrie, Ontario, you will help manage vault operations and, when required, oversee vault and coin vault staff. The role involves directing daily work, setting schedules, assigning runs, resolving employee issues, ensuring opening coverage, and confirming that closing procedures are completed properly.
You will also be responsible for handling holdover items, routing them correctly to the appropriate runs, and keeping vault documentation accurate and up to date. This includes balance sheets, change funds, coin storage records, and precious metal reports.
Work schedule and requirements
This position requires availability from Sunday to Thursday, 23:59 to 07:59. A PAL for both restricted and non-restricted firearms is mandatory.
Key duties
- Supervise vault and coin vault employees when needed, using independent judgment to assign work and coordinate schedules and runs.
- Manage crew coverage at the start of shifts and make sure vault shutdown procedures are carried out fully.
- Handle holdover items and direct them to the correct runs.
- Maintain and enter vault-related records, including balance sheets, change funds, coin storage details, and precious metal reports.
- Prepare customer shipments as required.
- Combine customer deposits in line with management instructions.
- Receive customer service instructions in a professional manner and note any complaints.
- Issue receipts for shipments received into the vault and collect receipts for shipments sent out.
- Report any shipment mismatch to management without delay.
- Follow all security and safety rules and take on other assigned tasks as needed.
- Carry out equipment checks for items such as radios, handheld devices, keys, phones, and shotguns.
- Ensure all documents are properly signed by the required parties.
