Job description

About the role

Avon positions beauty as a force that goes beyond appearance, with a focus on celebrating women, supporting achievement in business and everyday life, and encouraging others to be part of that mission. The company is looking for an Assistant Brand Manager to help shape the Hair Care and Personal Care categories across both established and growing channels.

This position plays a key role in building and activating category strategy across brochures, flyers, Avon.com, Amazon, TikTok Shop, social commerce, and broader digital channels. The work includes supporting innovation, launches, campaign rollouts, and omnichannel go-to-market plans while ensuring representative and consumer-facing deliverables are completed end to end.

The role partners closely with teams across Product Development, R&D, Regulatory, Creative, Operations, Digital, Social, Sales, and external vendors to bring products and initiatives to market. It suits a highly organized marketer who follows trends, enjoys beauty innovation, and can turn ideas into compelling stories.

You will report to the Brand Manager, Personal Care / Hair Care.

Responsibilities

  • Help build and manage an 18-month rolling innovation plan for the Hair Care and Personal Care portfolios.
  • Contribute to portfolio decisions using trend analysis, competitive reviews, consumer insights, performance data, and product knowledge.
  • Support product development from early concept through commercialization, including briefs, positioning, claims, naming, copy, artwork review, packaging, pricing, and launch readiness.
  • Identify target audiences and assist with marketing plans across brochure, digital, social commerce, Amazon, TikTok Shop, PR, sampling, influencer, and experiential channels.
  • Work with cross-functional partners to keep launches moving from development through campaign activation.
  • Track projects carefully with a strong understanding of the New Product Development process and milestone deadlines.
  • Maintain trackers, spreadsheets, launch schedules, project timelines, sample submissions, claims files, and reporting for daily and weekly reviews.
  • Liaise with external vendors and suppliers on submissions, artwork, packaging parts, fact sheets, testing, costs, timing, and inventory planning.
  • Help create strong product narratives through positioning, claim structure, ingredient storytelling, trend relevance, and clear differentiation.
  • Coordinate with brochure management, What’s New, Creative, PR, Social, and Digital teams on campaign materials, creative briefs, handoffs, and launch alignment.
  • Review campaign, digital, social commerce, and sales results to draw insights and recommend future growth opportunities.
  • Support newer channel efforts such as Amazon, TikTok Shop, influencer work, sampling, PR mailers, and experiential activations.
  • Stay current on beauty, wellness, hair care, skincare, and social trends to uncover unmet needs and future innovation ideas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • At least 5 years of progressive and successful experience in product development or marketing is required.
  • Experience marketing in digital environments, including social media, e-commerce, and analytics, is required.
  • Background working in a matrixed organization with cross-functional teams is required.
  • Strong analytical thinking and data-driven decision-making skills are expected.
  • Solid understanding of trends and how they connect to the customer is needed.
  • Successful collaboration with R&D, Supply Chain, and Sales teams to develop innovative, well-supported products and stories is required.

Perks and benefits

  • Benefits eligibility begins on the date of hire, including health, dental, vision, life, and other voluntary programs.
  • 401(k) matching starts immediately, with dollar-for-dollar matching up to 3% of eligible pay and $0.50 on the dollar for the next 2%.
  • Company-paid life insurance, AD&D, and disability coverage, with an option to purchase additional coverage.
  • Access to commuter support, Health Reimbursement Accounts, and Flexible Spending Accounts.
  • Family care programs are available for back-up child and elder care.
  • Additional optional benefits include group legal, critical illness, accident, pet insurance, and identity protection coverage.
