Job Summary

The Assistant Athletics Director - Compliance plays a crucial role in ensuring the athletic program adheres to NCAA rules and regulations. This position supports the Senior Director of Athletics Compliance by overseeing player eligibility, educating staff on compliance matters, and preventing rule violations. The role requires a strong commitment to the policies and procedures of the University, the Department of Athletics, and the conference and NCAA.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for assigned sports and departments within the Athletics Department, as designated by the Senior Director of Athletics Compliance.
  • Provide interpretations and educational guidance on NCAA, conference, and university legislation.
  • Monitor the activities of team personnel, including playing and practice seasons, awards, and recruiting.
  • Assist in the investigation and self-reporting of any NCAA rules violations.
  • Prepare and submit legislative waivers when necessary.
  • Facilitate the university's Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) compliance initiatives, including education, disclosure, and policy development, under the guidance of the senior compliance administrator.
  • Manage and facilitate the university's advisor registration program.
  • Contribute to the development and upkeep of the Athletic Compliance website and social media presence.
  • Participate in the strategic planning and content of the University’s Athletic Compliance program.
  • Undertake any additional duties assigned by the Senior Director of Athletics Compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • A minimum of 3 years of full-time experience in NCAA Compliance.

Additional Information

This position is located in Boone, North Carolina, and is a full-time, onsite role. Salary is commensurate with experience.
