Job description
Role overview
Twyford Church of England High School, part of the Twyford Trust family of schools, is recruiting an Art & Graphics Teacher for a full-time onsite post in Ealing, England. The school is rated Outstanding by Ofsted, has a strong Sixth Form, and is expanding, creating strong professional growth and promotion opportunities for energetic teachers who align with the school’s ethos. The role suits both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECT/NQT).
About the department
The Art Department delivers a broad creative curriculum from Key Stage 3 through Key Stage 5. All students in Years 7 and 8 study Art, developing foundational skills through the formal elements and a variety of media. In Year 9, students can choose Art or Graphics Communication as an option, helping them deepen their experience and prepare for GCSE and A Level study. At KS4, Art and Graphics is highly popular and produces excellent results. At A Level, students may study Fine Art, Graphics Communication, and Photography, either separately or in combination, with many learners progressing to Art Foundation courses or creative degree programmes. The department aims to provide a setting where students can express themselves while meeting the expectations needed to reach their creative potential.
What the role requires
The successful teacher will be expected to teach Art and Graphics Communication across KS4 and KS5, use digital tools confidently, especially Adobe software, and bring a strong understanding of curriculum planning, assessment, and learner motivation. The post calls for someone who can help students of different abilities succeed, reflect on their practice, and contribute positively to a whole-school focus on achievement.
Additional information
This position is suitable for ECT applicants. The school reserves the right to review shortlisted candidates’ social media and internet presence, and that information may be considered during recruitment. Twyford Trust expects all staff and volunteers to uphold child safeguarding responsibilities. The appointed candidate will need to complete the relevant child protection screening, including an enhanced DBS check and references from former employers. The post-holder must also read and follow the Trust’s Child Protection Policy and any other safeguarding guidance that applies.
Equality and inclusion
The Twyford Church of England Academy Trust is committed to building and maintaining a diverse and inclusive workforce that reflects its community. The Trust notes that people from Global Majority Heritage/United Kingdom Minority Ethnic backgrounds and disabled people are under-represented in its staff profile, and it especially welcomes applications from candidates whose experience can help improve that representation.
School values
The Trust offers an environment with strong professional support, collaborative working relationships, and an energetic leadership team. It values staff who are motivated, enthusiastic about the arts, and committed to the ethos of the school.
