Role overview
We are looking for an Area Sales Manager to support the sales function for the Middle East region from Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This is a 12-month contract role focused on driving market performance, strengthening importer relationships, and ensuring commercial targets are achieved in line with retail standards.
Key mandate
The position requires close coordination with regional stakeholders to help importers deliver on agreed targets across retail sales, wholesale, production, NPS, and MYS. You will be expected to track market performance, recommend corrective actions, and help improve both profitability and execution in the assigned markets.
Core duties
- Set, align, track, and review sales targets across the assigned markets, with full accountability for importer performance and profitability.
- Visit markets regularly to assess operations and monitor how importers are performing against agreed plans.
- Review importer KPIs, provide coaching, and support the creation of corrective action plans for sales and marketing.
- Work with importers and internal teams to align on production, wholesale, and retail volume plans, and own the business plan for the market.
- Monitor monthly performance against the business plan with dealer management and act quickly when results fall below target.
- Recommend tactical countermeasures to help importers reach vehicle sales goals and generate new vehicle production orders.
- Coordinate internal approvals for financial support where needed and collaborate with financial services on financing solutions.
- Track competitor pricing, volume trends, and market movements, then help implement product, pricing, and option-profile strategies.
- Ensure importers meet all reporting deadlines and maintain strong forecast accuracy for weekly estimates, forecasts, and production requests.
- Lead dealer development efforts for facility projects and support expansion into underserved markets and cities.
- Assess staffing, capacity, and facility requirements and help promote sales training by encouraging dealer participation.
Education
A bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in business management, or a closely related field, is required.
Experience and profile
- Background in sales operations, production planning, or a similar area, ideally in the automotive or luxury goods industry.
- Strong capability in data review, reporting, and analysis using Excel and business intelligence tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across different cultures and markets.
- Proven ability to juggle multiple priorities in a demanding, fast-moving environment while maintaining accuracy.
- Understanding of automotive markets across the Middle East and Africa is an added advantage.
- Strong attention to detail, strategic thinking, creativity, and an adaptable approach.
- Collaborative mindset with a proactive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
