Role Overview
ART Homes is hiring a full-time, permanent Architectural Drawings Lead to own the preparation of residential drawing packages. The role focuses on developing new home models, elevation drawings, and plan sets, while also producing design sketches for clients when needed.
This position works in close coordination with internal teams and management to make sure all drawings comply with approved plot plans, project specifications, and grade requirements. The ideal person will combine strong drafting and design software skills with the confidence to communicate professionally with internal teams, consultants, design professionals, and other stakeholders while driving project work forward.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver detailed drawing packages for a range of projects based on concepts, sketches, specifications, sales information, and code requirements
- Review drawings and blueprints and confirm that all plans match client expectations and residential construction requirements
- Oversee the preparation and upkeep of working drawings and master plans for both new and existing home models
- Revise current design models to reflect specification updates, corrections, changes, and missing details
- Convert master plans into project-specific production drawings within purchase agreement requirements and target timelines
- Adjust designs as needed to satisfy the Alberta Building Code and municipal rules
- Create, maintain, and improve drafting standards, drawing libraries, and version control practices across projects
- Keep drawing files organized and ensure accurate version tracking for all active work
- Coordinate with internal teams to share updates, address drawing issues, and provide timely technical support
- Lead communication with both internal and external stakeholders as needed
- Take part in professional development and stay current on industry trends, construction technology, and building regulations
- Handle other related duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills
- At least 2 years of residential drafting experience
- Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology, Design, or a closely related discipline
- Strong working knowledge of Revit and/or AutoCAD
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings accurately
- Experience guiding or mentoring colleagues or teams is an advantage
- Solid understanding of the Alberta Building Code and local municipal standards is an asset
- Background in multifamily projects is an asset
- Clear and efficient communication with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail and a quick follow-up approach
