About the training
This apprenticeship prepares you to handle the most demanding machines on a construction site. You will learn how to operate large construction equipment safely and with precision, while experienced trainers guide you through the practical skills needed to move earth, excavate trenches, and level surfaces.
The role covers everything from excavators to wheel loaders. As part of the training, you will learn how to prepare construction sites properly, use machines in a professional way, and carry out basic maintenance. It is a hands-on profession with a strong technical focus, real responsibility, and excellent long-term prospects, because modern construction projects depend heavily on skilled equipment operators.

Training details
The company’s plan does not end with the apprenticeship. It aims to retain trainees, support their growth, and help them become a valued part of the Dietmar Mothes GmbH team.
The apprenticeship lasts 36 months.
Training takes place across several locations: the inter-company training center is ÜAZ Glauchau, the vocational school is in Aue, the in-company practical training is in Chemnitz, and specialized training is held in Leipzig.
Career prospects
After completing the training and gaining suitable practical experience, you can progress into roles such as foreman, master craftsman, certified construction supervisor, or similar advanced positions.
Qualifications and profile
A secondary school certificate is expected. You should enjoy technology, have a sharp eye for detail, and be willing to take on responsibility. The ideal candidate is physically fit, works well in a team, and stays attentive on the job.
Apprenticeship pay
Training allowance is paid as follows: first year EUR 1,122, second year EUR 1,351, and third year EUR 1,610.
