Job description
Job Summary
This role supports the organization’s goal of providing agile, safe, and sustainable transport services by improving digital collaboration and productivity. The Applications Specialist – SharePoint will oversee SharePoint and related collaboration platforms, helping maintain smooth operations, document control, workflow automation, user assistance, and strong security and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage SharePoint sites, access settings, libraries, and content organization.
- Track platform uptime, responsiveness, and overall reliability.
- Create and support automated workflows using Power Automate and SharePoint features.
- Assist with business process automation and wider digital transformation work.
- Maintain document control practices, including version tracking and metadata standards.
- Support records management activities and compliance needs.
- Provide troubleshooting help and technical support to SharePoint users.
- Design and deliver training to improve adoption and effective use of the platform.
- Support intranet pages, collaboration spaces, and departmental work areas.
- Collect user needs and help coordinate enhancements to the platform.
- Apply access control, permission management, and security governance practices.
- Protect confidential and sensitive organizational information.
Qualifications & Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline is required.
The role calls for 4 to 6 years of experience in SharePoint administration and collaboration platforms.
Preferred training includes Microsoft SharePoint Certification and Microsoft 365 Fundamentals.
Candidates should bring hands-on capability in SharePoint administration, troubleshooting, workflow automation with Power Automate or Power Apps, document management, Microsoft 365 access control, analytical problem-solving, attention to detail, and strong communication and training skills.
