Job description
Role overview
This position is for an experienced GE SmartSignal / Asset Performance Analytics (APA) consultant who can help industrial organizations strengthen predictive maintenance and asset reliability through AI-based analytics. The focus is on deploying, optimizing, and expanding SmartSignal solutions so equipment issues can be identified early, availability can be improved, and operations can run more efficiently.
The role is best suited to someone with hands-on knowledge of machine-learning-based condition monitoring, industrial data analysis, and connections to enterprise asset management tools within oil & gas or manufacturing environments.
Key responsibilities
The selected professional will work on the implementation, configuration, and ongoing support of GE SmartSignal (APA) models for critical equipment such as compressors, turbines, pumps, and similar assets. The work also includes model training, tuning, validation, and full lifecycle support using both historical and live data.
They will review anomaly patterns, convert findings into practical recommendations, and partner with operations teams to support early fault detection and root-cause analysis. Another important part of the role is integrating SmartSignal with platforms such as GE APM, PI System, SAP, Maximo, and IoT ecosystems.
Additional duties include managing data ingestion, cleaning datasets, and building relevant features to improve analytical accuracy. The role also involves creating dashboards, alerts, and reports that help teams act on insights quickly, while supporting APA adoption, business value delivery, and ongoing enhancement efforts.
Compliance with cybersecurity policies, data governance rules, and enterprise architecture standards is also required.
Required profile
Candidates should bring at least 7 years of experience, preferably across oil & gas, petrochemicals, or power environments. A Master’s degree or a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field is required.
Strong knowledge is expected in SmartSignal / APA model development, tuning, anomaly detection, and alert setup. The role also calls for solid skills in time-series analytics, machine learning concepts, Python or R as preferred tools, and data preprocessing.
Experience with industrial systems such as GE APM, OSIsoft PI, SCADA, and DCS is important, along with integration knowledge involving APIs, middleware, SAP PM, and Maximo. Familiarity with SQL, historian data, ETL workflows, basic cloud platforms like Azure or AWS, and visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau will be valuable.
Experience and domain focus
This opportunity is aimed at senior-level professionals with deep exposure to predictive maintenance, industrial analytics, and reliability programs in asset-intensive sectors.
Location
The job is based in Eastern, Saudi Arabia and is an onsite role.
