Role overview

Sephora is looking for an Analyst to support Real Estate Strategy & Analytics in San Francisco. In this role, you will help guide store expansion decisions through advanced analysis, geo-spatial insights, market research, and sales forecasting. Your work will support the growth of Sephora’s physical footprint across the US and Canada and contribute to strategic decisions for the brick-and-mortar pipeline.

What you will do

• Build reliable sales and cannibalization forecasts for potential store locations using analog sales history, forecasting models, traffic inputs, and hindsight reports.
• Combine quantitative and qualitative analysis to understand sales performance drivers, competitive activity, and industry trends.
• Prepare research materials and analysis updates for monthly Real Estate Committee meetings.
• Carry out market studies to identify attractive retail sites and emerging opportunities across the US and Canada.
• Review demographic trends, customer behavior, and competitive conditions to support site selection decisions.
• Share research findings and strategic recommendations with cross-functional partners and company leadership.
• Support real estate and cross-functional teams with ad hoc analysis and special projects.
• Help improve and expand forecasting models, market evaluation tools, workflows, and best practices used in store pipeline planning.

Candidate profile

This position suits someone with 2–3 years of experience in real estate or retail, especially in areas such as retail expansion, spatial analytics, sales forecasting, modeling, or market research. The role calls for strong analytical judgment, excellent communication, and comfort working with large, complex datasets in a fast-moving environment.

Required skills and tools

• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint
• GIS and spatial analysis using MapInfo Pro, ESRI, or similar tools
• SQL and/or Power BI exposure preferred
• High attention to detail and strong reporting capability
• Ability to turn complex data into practical business recommendations
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Project coordination and prioritization across multiple deadlines
• Comfort with ambiguity and independently handling large datasets
• Written, verbal, and presentation skills
• Interpersonal communication and collaborative working style

Work location and setup

This is a full-time role based in San Francisco, California. The position is tied to Sephora’s San Francisco office and is set up as hybrid work.

Compensation

The annual base salary range for this role is $102,000 to $114,750. Final pay depends on qualifications, experience, education, certifications, licenses, and location. Employees may also be eligible for bonuses.
