About the team
The Walton Investment Team is a growing group focused on managing family investments. Team members are based in Bentonville, AR, Washington, DC, and Denver, CO. The group works together to shape, execute, and monitor investment strategy across portfolios.
What this role involves
This position supports senior colleagues with research, recommendations, portfolio oversight, asset allocation, investment activity, and reporting for family clients. The analyst will evaluate opportunities across multiple asset classes, with a primary focus on private investments and also including hedged and long-only strategies. - Analyze investment strategies, portfolio exposures, and market conditions using both quantitative and qualitative methods
- Build and maintain models, tools, and databases that support investment decisions and risk review
- Coordinate transactions, reporting, and reconciliations with operations and accounting partners
- Support investment policy work and ongoing improvements to portfolio monitoring and rebalancing processes
- Work with colleagues across departments on presentations, analytics, and special project materials
- Research economic and market trends and translate findings into useful insights for the team
- Take part in process improvements that strengthen reporting accuracy and workflow efficiency
Skills and qualifications
Applicants should hold a bachelor’s or graduate degree with strong academic performance. An investment-related background is helpful, though candidates from economics, accounting, finance, business, or STEM are also welcome. The company expects comfort with investment finance concepts, quantitative work, and investment operations.
Relevant experience in the investment industry or a related field is preferred, particularly where the work involved analytical responsibility, project leadership, and close attention to detail. Strong technical ability is important, especially with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, as well as AI tools.
The organization also encourages the pursuit of the CFA designation and other related professional credentials.
Additional helpful experience

- Excellent written and verbal communication, including the ability to simplify complex ideas
- Interest in pursuing the CFA designation or another relevant professional credential
- Genuine curiosity about investments and financial markets
Personal attributes
- Exercises discretion and integrity while acting as a trusted partner to principals and colleagues
- Works collaboratively and respectfully in a team-oriented environment
- Shows curiosity, bold thinking, and a willingness to learn, including adopting new technologies in workflows
- Stays focused on results and uses sound judgment when making decisions
- Thinks strategically and brings a forward-looking perspective
- Is committed to excellence and contributes actively to shared goals
Offer conditions
All employment offers depend on the successful completion, where allowed by state law, of a confidentiality agreement and a background check. On the first day of work, the selected candidate must provide valid identification proving authorization to work in the United States.
