Role overview
This role is focused on delivering dependable technical and process support, resolving client concerns directly or escalating them in a timely manner so that service-level expectations are consistently met.
Position details
The opening is for an Analyst in Fund Accounting, based in Bengaluru. Working hours are scheduled in two shifts: 12:30 PM to 9:30 PM and 2:00 PM to 11:30 PM.
What the role involves
You will support private equity, real estate, and hedge fund operations across fund and financial accounting activities. The position includes book keeping, journal entries, preparation of financial statements, management fee, carried interest and expense calculations, capital calls, distribution processing, reconciliation work, valuation support, and related reporting tasks.
Core responsibilities
Your work will include preparing capital call memos, opening letters of credit, following up with limited partners for funding, producing distribution workings and LP memos, arranging fund transfer wires, managing repayment of LCs, tracking cash movement, posting entries, and maintaining cash reports. You will also contribute to valuation work for portfolio investments and support partnership accounting applications.
Reporting and service delivery
Another major part of the role is preparing and submitting fund and investor reports within SLA, meeting turnaround-time targets, and maintaining error-free delivery. You are also expected to improve processes where possible and help build a positive, professional team environment.
Skills and knowledge expected
Applicants should be comfortable with MS Office tools, especially at an advanced level, and demonstrate strong written and verbal communication. The role also calls for analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, a proactive mindset, teamwork, client interaction skills, timely escalation, and professional phone and email etiquette.
Domain knowledge in financial accounting is essential, along with a general understanding of capital markets, banking, and private equity/real estate/hedge fund structures and workflows. Hands-on exposure to related systems and a solid grasp of processes such as accounting, investor reporting, capital calls, distributions, and financial statement preparation are important.
Eligibility
To be considered, you should be a postgraduate, or hold a CA or CFA qualification, with knowledge of accounting and finance. Relevant fund accounting experience in the range of 1 to 4 years is expected.
Performance expectations
Success in this role will be measured by the number of cases resolved each day, adherence to process and quality standards, compliance with SLAs, pulse score, customer feedback, productivity, efficiency, absenteeism, training hours, and completion of technical training.
