The role is offered at 37.5 hours per week, arranged across 4 days, with shifts running from Monday to Saturday between 7:00 am and 5:30 pm. The position focuses on delivering consistently high standards of patient care within theatre and anaesthetic services.

What You’ll Do

  • Carry out anaesthetic techniques and procedures competently and safely.
  • Work as an effective member of the theatre team, contributing to care assessment in the operating theatre and other areas where anaesthetic support is needed.
  • Monitor patients closely and escalate to medical staff whenever their condition requires attention.
  • Manage allocated anaesthetic resources in a safe, efficient and effective manner.
  • Share accurately recorded information with the theatre and anaesthetic multidisciplinary team to support patient safety and care updates.
  • Support and oversee junior or unqualified colleagues, offering specialist guidance when assessing patients and interpreting acute conditions.

What We’re Looking For

  • A Part 1 registered NMC nurse or an Operating Department Practitioner with orthopaedic experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including report writing and documentation.
  • Confidence building good working relationships with patients and multidisciplinary colleagues.
  • Good IT and computer skills, with willingness to develop further as service needs change.
  • Working knowledge of NMC/HCPC professional conduct guidance and current perioperative issues.
  • Excellent organisation, problem-solving ability and the capacity to stay composed under pressure.

Benefits and Conditions

  • Annual salary of £44,373.
  • 25 days of annual leave, increasing by 1 day at 3, 5, 10 and 15 years of service, plus bank holidays.
  • Private pension with both employer and employee contributions.
  • Ongoing training and professional development.
  • Access to a broad range of wellbeing and lifestyle discounts, along with local site discount vouchers.
