Job description

Role overview

Etihad is inviting UAE Nationals to join its Airport Operations Programme, a structured development path designed to build a future career in aviation with one of the fastest-expanding airlines in the world. The programme is intended to develop emerging leaders through practical experience in airport and network operations, aircraft dispatch, and safety and security.

This is a three- to four-year training journey that gives participants broad exposure to airport ground operations and prepares them for leadership responsibilities in the industry. The experience is built around three placements: Network Operations Control at Etihad HQ, the Hub Control Center, and Aircraft Dispatch at Abu Dhabi Airport.

What you will do

  • Support guest acceptance and handling at all airport touchpoints, including check-in, boarding, and arrivals, while maintaining high service standards and complying with safety, security, brand, policy, and procedure requirements.
  • Work toward agreed performance targets, including KPIs, ancillary revenue objectives, and customer service measures.
  • Coordinate daily operations with internal teams and external partners such as airline staff, handling agents, service vendors, and local authorities, ensuring accurate briefings, timely updates, and strong communication.
  • Handle flight changes and special guest needs, including planning and support for VIP, MAAS, PRM, and other special-category passengers.
  • Coordinate with Guest Control, Business Solutions, Network Control, and SOC during disruptions and emergency situations to help maintain operational continuity and response readiness.

Programme highlights

Participants will gain hands-on experience across key operational areas, building the practical skills needed to ensure smooth airport operations and positive guest experiences. The programme also offers world-class training, guidance from mentors, and on-the-job learning to support long-term career growth.

Eligibility and requirements

This opportunity is open to UAE Nationals aged 19 years and above who hold a valid family book. Candidates must have completed at least a High School Diploma accredited by the UAE Ministry of Education and must be fluent in English. Previous experience in customer service is preferred.

Applicants should be comfortable working on shift-based schedules, able to wear the Etihad uniform with pride, and, for male candidates, have completed or permanently been exempted from UAE National Service.

Additional information

Etihad positions this programme as part of its broader mission to develop Emirati talent and create meaningful career pathways from its base in Abu Dhabi. Through its Journey 2030 ambition, the airline is investing in future leaders who will help shape the next phase of Etihad and the wider aviation sector.

Interviews take place face-to-face or by video or telephone before any official offer is issued. Any request for money should be treated as a scam.
