Job description
Role overview
This position sits within the Base Maintenance team, where engineers support a wide range of aircraft servicing activities, including detailed inspections, major repairs, cabin refurbishment work, aircraft handovers, and scheduled inspection programmes for Airbus A380, Airbus A350, and Boeing 777 fleets. The team also delivers efficient and economical support for A and C checks, engine changes, landing gear replacements, unscheduled maintenance, and pre-service checks.
The Aircraft Technician is responsible for carrying out maintenance on Emirates and third-party aircraft and components in line with company rules, technical standards, and regulatory requirements. The role works under the supervision and direction of a Licensed Aircraft Engineer and may cover the trade or cross-trade areas for which the technician is qualified.
Key duties
- Perform routine servicing and maintenance on aircraft, engines, and components, as well as approved structural repairs, following the relevant manufacturer procedures.
- Follow all safety controls during fluid topping-up, aircraft refuelling, and aircraft system charging or servicing activities.
- Carry out component changes and other assigned maintenance work by using the appropriate technical references, such as AMM, IPC, CMM, SRM, or other OEM-approved documents.
- Assist Licensed Aircraft Engineers and approved/licensed technicians with fault diagnosis, repairs, and modifications according to job cards.
- Work efficiently to reduce delays, prepare tasks based on aircraft condition, report defects without delay, and ensure shift handovers are accurate and complete.
- Help maintain a strong safety-first culture by reducing hazards, reporting issues, keeping work areas clean and free of FOD, and looking after toolboxes, vehicles, and equipment.
- Comply with airport safety rules, including possession of a valid Airport Driving Permit and adherence to manoeuvring area requirements.
- Support team goals and participate in continuous improvement efforts through active collaboration.
- When needed, use current maintenance knowledge to support resource planning and departmental projects through RMS/RTC systems and related activities.

The role also calls for experience in an aircraft engineering environment, including a minimum of two years of hands-on on-the-job training within an airline or an approved aircraft maintenance organisation.
