Role overview
DSV is expanding its global logistics and transport network, and this position is part of that growth. The Air Import Freight Forwarder will support inbound air freight movements in Shannon, ensuring shipments progress efficiently from arrival through to final delivery. The role combines operational precision, regulatory compliance, and strong customer communication.
Working pattern and pay
This is a full-time onsite role based in Shannon, County Clare, Ireland. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:30, with a total of 37.5 hours per week. The salary range is €30,000 to €45,000 per annum.
Key duties
- Oversee air import shipments throughout the full process, starting at arrival and ending with delivery.
- Liaise with airlines, agents, transport companies, and warehouse teams to keep freight moving.
- Organise delivery arrangements and make sure cargo is released without delay.
- Prepare and manage customs paperwork while staying aligned with import rules and compliance requirements.
- Check shipment records including invoices, packing lists, and airway bills.
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers, giving progress updates and handling issues as they arise.
- Maintain accurate system records, track milestones, and support billing activities.
Candidate profile
- Prior experience in air freight forwarding, preferably with import operations, is expected.
- A working understanding of customs processes and shipping documentation is important.
- You should be organised, attentive to detail, and able to manage several shipments at the same time.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with customers and internal teams are essential.
- Confidence using CargoWise and Microsoft Office is required.
