Job description

About the Company

Bully Pulpit International is an outcomes-focused agency composed of strategists, data scientists, and creatives. Drawing experience from politics, brands, and government, the team works across strategic communications, public affairs, research, and digital marketing to build tailored strategies for American and European clients. The company has more than 400 employees across six countries and thirteen offices, including Berlin, Brussels, Chicago, D.C., London, Los Angeles, New York, Oslo, San Francisco, and Zürich.

Role Overview

This freelance opportunity is for a generative AI video creative who can help shape visually striking campaign content for clients around the world. The role blends advanced AI video generation with strong traditional editing instincts, including a sense for shot choice, pacing, music, sound effects, graphics, and storytelling. You will work closely with creative directors, producers, strategists, and client teams to produce content for social, digital, broadcast, and integrated campaigns.

The position is centered on creative judgment rather than tool operation alone. You will be expected to turn strategic ideas into emotionally engaging visual pieces at speed, while understanding both the strengths and constraints of AI-driven production. The work calls for polished, brand-safe output that still feels human, relevant, and creatively elevated.

Key Responsibilities

  • Convert briefs, scripts, and concepts into strong visual directions and executions using AI-assisted production methods.
  • Build quick prototypes and refine creative options rapidly for both internal and client feedback.
  • Create, edit, color-correct, and sound-design video assets using AI-enabled tools across multiple formats.
  • Combine AI-generated footage with live-action clips, motion graphics, stock material, voiceover, music, and sound design to achieve a cohesive final piece.
  • Prepare finished edits for broadcast or social delivery while controlling AI artifacts and preserving visual continuity.
  • Stay mindful of licensing, intellectual property, likeness use, and platform-specific issues tied to generative AI content.
  • Advise teams on realistic timelines, capabilities, and best practices for AI-assisted production.
  • Work smoothly with creative, strategy, production, and account teams in a fast-paced agency setting.

Requirements

  • Strong practical experience with leading generative AI tools and upscaling software such as Midjourney, Runway, Veo, Sora, LTX, ElevenLabs, and Topaz Video AI.
  • Background in directing and/or cinematography, with a solid grasp of lighting, framing, and lens choice.
  • Excellent editorial taste and judgment across pacing, performance, composition, sound, and emotional storytelling.
  • Ability to create both attention-grabbing social content and more refined campaign-level work.
  • Comfort working quickly while balancing experimentation with real production constraints and quality standards.
  • Well-organized, dependable, and communicative, with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively.
  • Capable of navigating the unpredictability of AI-generated outputs and troubleshooting issues as needed.

Bonus Skills

  • Advanced audio editing abilities, including sound design, SFX, and Foley.
  • Color correction and grading experience to match different AI and live-action shots.
  • Experience with node-based AI systems, local model execution, or custom model training.
  • Motion graphics expertise, including animated typography, transitions, and branded overlays in tools such as After Effects.

Benefits

U.S.-based employees are offered a broad benefits package that includes fully employer-paid medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) plan with matching contributions up to 4%, generous vacation time, a $50 monthly phone reimbursement, unlimited sick leave, and 16 weeks of paid parental leave. The benefits package is designed to support wellness and a progressive employee experience.

Equal Opportunity and Inclusion

The organization is an equal opportunity employer and evaluates candidates based on merit, commitment, and qualifications. Consideration is provided without regard to protected characteristics under applicable law, including race, color, ancestry, national origin, religion, sex, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, marital status, veteran status, disability, genetic information, and other legally protected factors. Qualified applicants are also reviewed regardless of criminal history where permitted by law. The company encourages candidates to apply even if their experience does not match every requirement, and it is committed to building an inclusive, diverse, equitable, and accessible workplace.
