Job description
About the role
This position is for an AI developer who will create intelligent agents and practical AI solutions at the crossroads of advanced manufacturing and modern technology. The work is highly cross-functional: you will collaborate with PhD-level specialists and subject-matter experts, learn complex scientific and process workflows, and convert that knowledge into AI systems built on Microsoft Azure’s AI platform.
What you will do
- Develop AI agents and complete solutions for challenges that span several technical and manufacturing areas.
- Partner with PhD-level experts and other specialists to understand, capture, and model intricate processes.
- Turn scientific know-how and process expertise into structured workflows, models, and agent-based systems.
- Create and connect solutions using Azure AI services, including Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, and Azure Machine Learning.
- Design retrieval-augmented generation pipelines, orchestration flows, and tool-using agents that are grounded in domain knowledge.
- Release, track, and improve production systems while maintaining security and governance standards.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar discipline.
- Strong Python programming ability.
- Practical experience with the Azure AI stack, such as Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry/Azure ML, and Cognitive Services.
- Experience building LLM applications, AI agents, and RAG-based systems.
- Capability to work with technical experts and convert specialized knowledge into usable systems.
- Solid analytical thinking and process-mapping skills, with comfort working across unfamiliar technical areas.
- Working knowledge of orchestration tools such as LangChain or Semantic Kernel, plus MLOps practices.
Nice to have
- Exposure to advanced manufacturing or scientific/industrial process settings.
- Experience with industrial, IoT, or time-series data.
- Azure certifications, such as AI Engineer Associate.
