Role overview
Hanchu Energy Zim is seeking an Aftersales Technician to handle service, warranty, and technical support work across solar and related system components. The role focuses on keeping installed systems performing at their best while delivering professional customer-facing support in the field.
Key duties
- Diagnose faults and resolve issues affecting Hanchu products, including modules, inverters, and other system parts, to maintain optimal performance.
- Visit installation locations whenever required to carry out inspection and service work.
- Inspect, repair, and replace high-voltage battery packs, inverters, and electric motors in a safe manner.
- Use advanced diagnostic equipment and dedicated laptops to read system information, clear fault codes, and identify electrical problems.
- Work in line with strict electrical safety requirements, including the use of high-voltage protective equipment, insulated tools, and lockout/tagout kits.
- Troubleshoot onboard charging units and check compatibility with public and home EV charging systems.
- Update and flash vehicle software, and perform calibration for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
- Attend scheduled appointments on time, confirm attendance, and manage fieldwork efficiently.
- Prepare job sites for completion of works and assign tasks to support team members, including conducting tailboard safety meetings before work starts.
- Maintain a professional approach and communicate directly with Hanchu Energy Zim customers.
- Complete and submit daily documentation for serviced or newly installed systems.
- Deliver high-quality workmanship on service and warranty assignments.
- Carry out other management-directed duties, including support for the sales team, warehouse team, stock counts, and deliveries.
