The organisation works across health, wellness, and beauty, and is supported by more than 1,500 people. Its Operations division includes IT, Supply Chain, Finance, the PMO, and Scientific Affairs, all working together to provide strong systems, governance, supply chain support, and scientific oversight across the wider group.

About the Role

The Accounts Payable Officer will handle vendor invoice processing, payment run preparation, and upkeep of supplier master records. This is a 6-month fixed-term contract based in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The position plays an important part in maintaining financial controls and helping the Finance team meet operational and compliance obligations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and maintain supplier accounts by checking new vendor details, updating banking records, and keeping master data accurate.
  • Assist with audit activities by gathering documentation and responding promptly to auditor requests.
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations, identify variances, and resolve issues within required deadlines.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports and support the team with finance-related queries as needed.
  • Look for ways to improve processes, including opportunities for greater efficiency and automation.

Experience and Skills

  • At least 3 years of experience in Accounts Payable or a comparable finance position, with practical knowledge of end-to-end AP workflows.
  • Ability to investigate, analyse, and resolve discrepancies with a structured problem-solving approach.
  • Strong focus on accuracy and data integrity.
  • Clear written, verbal, and listening communication skills, with the ability to work well with internal stakeholders.
  • Advanced Excel capability and confidence using Microsoft Office 365.
  • Experience with ERP platforms, preferably Business Central, is valued. Exposure to regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals, healthcare, or FMCG is also advantageous, as is experience working through organisational change or transformation.

Benefits

  • Access to employee discounts through the DBG Health Employee Shop, including brands such as MCoBeauty, Esmi Skin Minerals, Nude by Nature, e.l.f. Cosmetics, and Chemist's Own.
  • Confidential wellbeing support through Acacia EAP, available 24/7 and covering counselling, mental health support, financial coaching, and manager assistance.
  • A supportive, values-led environment within a fast-growing organisation that encourages development and internal movement.
  • The opportunity to work independently in an environment that promotes ownership, accountability, and personal achievement.
  • Access to the Bastas Academy for Health Leadership through Melbourne Business School, with programs, coaching, and development for emerging and senior leaders.
  • Participation in the DBG Health Leadership Academy, which provides structured leadership development, mentoring, and clear pathways for progression.
