Role Summary

This is a full-time, on-site Accounting Clerk position in Kingston. The role supports the finance and accounting team with day-to-day bookkeeping and recordkeeping tasks to help maintain accurate and timely financial information.

Key Duties

The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for entering and maintaining financial transactions, handling invoice processing, preparing payment vouchers, and keeping ledger accounts up to date. The role also includes bank statement reconciliation, support for accounts payable and accounts receivable, and assistance with basic financial reporting.

Additional duties include working in accounting systems, filing and organizing financial documentation, and supporting month-end and year-end closing work. The position requires coordination with operations and administrative teams to ensure financial records remain accurate, current, and useful for compliance and service delivery.

Required Background

Candidates should have a solid base in accounting and bookkeeping, with the ability to record and reconcile transactions carefully. Experience with accounting systems and support for preparing financial statements is important, along with a practical understanding of finance processes such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash handling.

The role calls for strong attention to detail, good numerical ability, and well-organized record management. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office tools is needed, along with clear written and spoken communication skills and the ability to work across teams.

A diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is preferred. Prior experience in an accounting support position is considered an advantage. Applicants must be able to work on-site in Kingston and handle multiple priorities while meeting deadlines with integrity and confidentiality.
