Role Overview
This opportunity is for an experienced and driven Sales Account Manager to expand the company’s reach across the Lower South Island, with a focus on Southland and Otago. The position combines account management, new business development, customer engagement, and solution-led selling. It is well suited to someone comfortable working remotely, spending significant time on the road, and building rapport within rural communities.
The preferred base for this role is Southland or a nearby location, with regular travel to the head office in Feilding, Manawatū District.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and nurture strong, long-term relationships with customers
- Look after important accounts and serve as a reliable contact for clients
- Spot and convert opportunities to win new business
- Recommend products, carry out demonstrations, and provide customer support
- Deliver training and technical guidance to customers, with full training supplied
- Travel across rural areas to meet clients and prospects
- Keep CRM records up to date and handle order entry accurately
- Work to individual sales goals and performance measures
- Play a positive role in a collaborative, high-performing team
What We’re Looking For
- Prior experience in sales and/or account management
- Knowledge of agriculture or machinery is an added advantage
- A practical, solution-focused approach to sales
- Well-developed communication and relationship-building abilities
- Confidence working independently and managing your own workload
- Strong planning, organisation, and time management skills
- Comfort speaking with customers in person and over the phone
- Ability to learn technical products and understand customer requirements
- A valid New Zealand driver’s licence and readiness to travel regularly
