Job description

Role overview

OpenTable is hiring an Account Executive for its Stuttgart territory. The position is based in Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg, and combines home working with frequent travel and in-person meetings across the region. Because there is no office in Germany, much of the week is spent meeting restaurant partners face to face while the rest of the work can be done remotely.

The compensation package includes a €60,000 base salary plus uncapped commission, with total earnings around €100,000+ on target.

As part of OpenTable, you will join a global business backed by Booking Holdings, with a long track record in helping restaurants grow, run efficiently, and deliver better guest experiences. The company supports millions of diners and tens of thousands of restaurant partners worldwide.

What the role involves

You will represent OpenTable in your territory and take ownership of the complete sales process, from lead generation and relationship development through negotiation and deal closure. The focus of the role is helping restaurants increase revenue and improve operations through technology for reservations, front-of-house workflows, and guest experience.

This is a field-based sales role that requires professional fluency in both German and English, along with the confidence to build trust quickly in a competitive market and to engage with restaurant decision-makers in person.

Responsibilities

  • Find, approach, and convert new restaurant customers within the assigned territory to expand OpenTable’s network.
  • Run product demonstrations in person and virtually, tailoring the conversation to the specific needs of each restaurant partner.
  • Create strong relationships with restaurant operators, share market observations, and help them see fresh business opportunities.
  • Build territory plans, maintain pipeline discipline, produce accurate forecasts, and handle contracts in Salesforce.
  • Hit or surpass monthly and quarterly acquisition and revenue goals while managing objections and competitive selling situations.
  • Collect customer insights and relay them to internal teams, while also representing the brand at networking events and within the hospitality community.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of consultative B2B enterprise sales experience.
  • Fluency in German and English at a professional level.
  • A demonstrated record of meeting or beating sales targets in a consultative sales setting.
  • Strong discovery, negotiation, presentation, and time-management skills, plus the ability to use data to support decisions and build a business case.
  • Working knowledge of Google Workspace and Salesforce.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Ability to travel regularly within Germany for a field-based role.
  • Experience in software sales, hospitality technology, payments, restaurant management, or food and beverage sales is preferred.
  • Experience using customer and market insights to shape sales strategy and provide product feedback is preferred.
  • Experience representing a company at industry events and networking opportunities is preferred.
  • Interest in hospitality and technology, with a collaborative mindset and willingness to keep learning.
  • Resume submission is expected in English.

Perks and benefits

  • Ability to work from nearly anywhere for up to 20 days each year.
  • 30 vacation days annually, plus 2 days off for your wedding, 1 moving day, and your birthday off.
  • An annual company-wide recharge week when the business fully closes down.
  • Company-funded therapy through Spring Health.
  • Headspace subscription.
  • Employee Assistance Programme with 24/7 GP access, legal support, and additional services.
  • Income protection and life assurance.
  • Development Dollars for learning and career growth.
  • Leadership development opportunities.
  • Access to thousands of on-demand courses and learning resources.
  • Paid volunteer days.
  • Paid parental leave.
  • Competitive pension contributions.
  • Employee Resource Groups and inclusive communities.

Work environment and flexibility

OpenTable operates across multiple time zones, so while most tasks fit standard business hours, some communication outside normal working hours may be needed to coordinate with international colleagues, restaurant partners, or urgent matters. This can include calls, Slack messages, or emails. Local laws and regulations will always be respected.

Inclusion and support

OpenTable aims to create a workplace where people feel they belong and can succeed. The team values different perspectives and is building a culture that reflects the diversity of the diners and restaurants it serves.

If you need support or adjustments during the application process, interview process, or while doing the job, accommodations can be provided through the recruiter.
