The operations team in Singapore supports and grows WeChat’s core product experience for users outside mainland China, with a focus on messaging, social networking, and user engagement. This role offers the chance to contribute to a product with global reach and help shape how millions of users stay connected.
About the Internship
This internship is a paid opportunity that runs for at least 12 weeks. Interns will receive guidance from experienced members of the WeChat operations team while working directly on new initiatives and product enhancements. Over the course of the internship, you will build a strong understanding of WeChat’s values, complete data-led projects independently, and work closely with teams across product, engineering, and legal functions.
Responsibilities
- Work with large-scale datasets to uncover business opportunities and improve product outcomes.
- Create dashboards and visual reporting tools that monitor important performance indicators and turn data into practical product recommendations.
- Support the development of data pipelines that help meet operational requirements and strengthen platform security.
- Partner with teams across the business to convert analytical results into informed strategy decisions.
Requirements
- Enrollment in an undergraduate or postgraduate program in Computer Science, Data Science, Computer Engineering, or a similar discipline.
- Good working knowledge of SQL and Python; familiarity with C, C++, or Go will be considered an advantage.
- Strong ability to analyze problems, solve them logically, and pay close attention to detail.
- A high level of ownership, a user-focused attitude, and strong professional integrity.
- Quick to learn, collaborative by nature, and able to communicate clearly with others.
- Previous exposure through an internship or job in the technology or internet sector is an added plus.
- Ability to communicate fluently in both English and Mandarin for effective collaboration with global teams and headquarters stakeholders.
