Telecom Engineer

Role overview

Qureos is hiring a Telecom Engineer in Doha, Qatar to help run and improve telecommunications systems that support Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI). This role focuses on keeping communication networks reliable for meter data transmission and supporting field and technical operations across the lifecycle of the systems.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with the operation, upkeep, and system integration of telecom solutions used in AMI environments.
• Watch over telecom devices and communication networks, diagnose faults, and tune performance for dependable meter data transfer.
• Examine communication failures, network interruptions, and possible tampering cases, then document findings with root cause analysis and practical corrective and preventive actions.
• Deliver clear daily, weekly, and monthly status updates covering manpower allocation, completed work, open items, and project progress as required by contract terms.
• Support installation, commissioning, day-to-day operation, maintenance, and repair activities for telecom and AMI communication systems.
• Follow ISO standards, company risk controls, information security rules, and HSE requirements in all work activities.
• Share technical know-how, coach junior engineers and technicians, and help field teams build capability.
• Carry out additional tasks assigned by management in support of team and organizational goals.
