Role overview

Adani Green Energy Ltd. is looking for a Surveyor to support a large hydropower/PSP project in Andhra Pradesh. The role focuses on precise surveying across civil, hydro-mechanical, and electro-mechanical works, with strong attention to alignment, monitoring, and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and maintain the project’s survey control network, including horizontal and vertical control points and permanent benchmarks for major structures such as dams, tunnels, pressure shafts, caverns, and the powerhouse.
• Keep control stations accurate and stable for the full project duration.
• Carry out setting-out work for civil, hydro-mechanical, and EM activities, including dam and spillway structures, intake works, HRT, TRT, adits, surge shaft, pressure shaft/tunnel, powerhouse, transformer cavern, and penstock alignment.
• Ensure site execution matches approved coordinates, levels, alignments, and design profiles.
• Perform underground alignment checks, convergence and deformation monitoring, overbreak/underbreak assessment, and verification of crown, wall, and invert positions.
• Support tunnel breakthrough work from multiple headings so that tolerances are maintained.
• Provide alignment assistance for hydro-mechanical and electrical-mechanical installations such as penstocks, steel liners, bifurcations, turbine runner, draft tube, spiral case, generator stator, rotor centreline, EOT cranes, and monorails.
• Maintain the high-precision standards required by OEMs.
• Conduct topographic and as-built surveys for excavation quantities, valley/river/hill terrain, underground cavity mapping, and penstock or pipeline routing.
• Prepare as-built drawings for completed works.
• Measure and verify quantities for earthwork, rock excavation, backfilling, and concrete, and support contractor and subcontractor billing checks.
• Monitor settlement and movement of the dam body, powerhouse, pressure shaft, and underground tunnels, and escalate any abnormal displacement to engineering or safety teams.
• Ensure all survey instruments remain calibrated, maintained, and in proper working condition, including total stations, DGPS, LiDAR, and tunnel profilers.
• Follow BIS/IS standards, project tolerances, and OEM alignment requirements, while maintaining safe practices in underground areas, steep terrain, and other restricted zones.

Qualifications

A diploma or degree in Civil Engineering is preferred and considered an added advantage. The candidate should be comfortable using AutoCAD, 3D tools, and other related software. A minimum of 12 years of experience in underground hydropower or PSP projects is required.
