Storekeeper

Job purpose

This role is focused on keeping inventory data accurate and current by maintaining an automated stock database, recording materials, supplies, and equipment, and preparing reports that help track stock levels, usage patterns, and reorder needs.

Education

A bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent qualification, is required.

Experience

Applicants should generally bring more than 3 years of experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical sector, though related industry experience may also be considered.

Key responsibilities

The storekeeper will manage the day-to-day flow of inventory through ordering, receiving, storing, shipping, and maintaining records. The position also involves using storage space effectively, following inventory count rules, ensuring count accuracy, and placing goods according to standard procedures and supplier storage requirements. Timely receiving and system updates are essential, along with identifying stock items and proper stock levels, preparing and speeding up orders when needed, and handling issues such as freight claims, shortages, damaged items, duplicate deliveries, and back orders. Monitoring product expiry dates is also part of the role.
