Salayel Hospitality is hiring dependable and hardworking Stewards to help keep kitchen and food and beverage operations running smoothly. This position focuses on maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety in all back-of-house areas, while also supporting the wider service team where needed.

Key responsibilities

• Wash, clean, and sanitize kitchen tools, utensils, crockery, and cutlery.
• Use dishwashing and pot-wash equipment effectively and safely.
• Keep kitchen surfaces, floors, walls, storage areas, and other BOH spaces clean and orderly.
• Apply hygiene, sanitation, and food safety practices consistently throughout the shift.
• Use cleaning chemicals according to training and safety guidance.
• Support chefs and front-of-house teams during service whenever assistance is required.
• Sort and dispose of waste correctly, including proper segregation.
• Inform supervisors about broken equipment or any maintenance concerns.
• Help monitor stock levels of cleaning materials and supplies.
• Work in line with company rules, safety standards, and standard operating procedures.

Requirements and qualifications

• Prior stewarding experience in a hotel or restaurant is an advantage.
• Working knowledge of kitchen cleanliness, sanitation, and hygiene requirements.
• Good physical stamina and the ability to remain on your feet for long periods.
• Availability for rotating schedules, including weekends and public holidays.
• Strong team spirit and a constructive attitude.
• Basic spoken and written English communication.
• Willingness to take instruction and learn on the job.
