About the Company
Essex Lake Group LLC is a global consulting and analytics firm headquartered in New York with operations across India, Canada, China, and the United Kingdom. The company focuses on improving profitability through data-led solutions built on big data, advanced analytics, and deep executive and industry expertise.
Its tailored, field-tested approach is designed to create measurable business impact within 6 to 18 months. Essex has supported clients in revenue growth, cost optimization, consumer and enterprise risk management, and regulatory compliance. The firm works with major organizations in banking, insurance, private equity, telecommunications, and healthcare, and it partners closely with clients through implementation to help them realize the full value of the solutions delivered.
Role Summary
The Solution Intelligence Specialist will lead analytical workstreams end to end across client engagements. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, the ability to turn business challenges into structured analytical plans, and the confidence to drive delivery with limited direction.
Key Responsibilities
The specialist will take ownership of analytical work from hypothesis framing through to insights and solution blueprints. The role includes collecting and working with data, conducting analysis, mentoring analysts, and helping shape implementation-ready solutions.
This person will be expected to handle complex problems independently, build clear analysis plans, connect target outcomes with smaller execution steps, and ensure analytical outputs are of a high standard. They will also translate findings into practical recommendations, contribute to client-facing presentations, and manage stakeholders effectively.
In some cases, the role may also involve supporting the development of advanced AI and machine learning models, as well as working with UI and UX designers to convert business needs into solution concepts.
Required Background
Candidates should be graduates from a premier educational institution with a strong academic record. A minimum of 5 years of experience is expected, ideally in analytically demanding roles within financial services or professional services.
The role calls for strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, along with hands-on experience in one or more big-data analytical tools or languages such as SQL, Hive, SAS, Python/PySpark, or R. Applicants should be able to structure analytical work, form hypotheses, and develop actionable insights that can be implemented.
Success in this role also depends on a strong sense of ownership, the ability to work across business, finance, analytics, and technology teams, and the flexibility to learn quickly in a fast-moving environment. Comfort working with international teams and clients across different geographies is also important.
Preferred Experience
Additional advantage will be given to candidates with experience in professional services or in banking, insurance, or similar financial institutions. Prior exposure to mentoring junior team members is also valuable.
Other preferred strengths include knowledge of statistical methods, practical experience in AI/ML development, and an interest in supporting the design of visualization tools such as Tableau, QlikView, and Power BI, or web and iOS applications. Willingness to travel is also considered a plus.
Location
The position is based in Toronto, Canada.
