Site Surveyor

Overview

Wates is hiring a Site Surveyor to join the WPS Planned Maintenance team in the Wolverhampton area. The role supports the delivery of projects for a long-standing social housing partner, so experience in this environment would be highly valued.

This position is split between office-based work and travel to client sites, and a valid driving licence is required.

What the role is focused on

The main purpose of the position is to prepare commercial outputs, keep a close watch on costs, and manage financial performance so the business operates efficiently and profitably. You will also work closely with client representatives to make sure contractual service standards are met.

Key duties

• Prepare applications, accounts, and invoices in the correct format and within required timelines.
• Make sure all service delivery costs are properly coded, recorded, approved, and recovered.
• Support the creation of management information and monthly performance reports for both internal and external use.
• Keep commercial work in progress and debt levels as low as possible and aligned with management targets.
• Ensure valuations are completed on time so invoices can be raised within 9 calendar days of work completion.
• Help improve communication and coordination between WPS and the client.

What success in the role looks like

The ideal candidate will bring strong financial and commercial awareness, along with a clear commitment to customer-focused service. Previous experience in a similar role, particularly within social housing, would be an advantage.

You should be a confident written and verbal communicator with a solid understanding of legislation related to maintenance and property management.
