This is a high-impact leadership role inside a rapidly growing engineering organization that operates across multiple regions. You will shape and expand the Technical Program Management function from the ground up, setting the way complex cross-functional initiatives are run across Engineering, Product, and Design. In addition to being a strategic operator, you will create the systems, standards, and operating model that help teams execute consistently at scale. You will also lead a small, high-performing TPM team and establish a strong benchmark for delivery excellence. The role calls for strong technical understanding, sound organizational judgment, and the ability to create structure in ambiguous environments. Key accountabilities

• Create and grow the Technical Program Management function, including its operating model, engagement approach, standards, and long-term shape across the business.
• Lead and coach a developing team of senior TPMs, clarify expectations, safeguard quality, and keep the function focused on true program leadership rather than administrative tracking.
• Build the execution framework for collaboration across Engineering, Product, Design, Customer Success, Support, GTM, and PMM so that ownership, dependencies, and escalation paths are explicit.
• Set and roll out the company-wide standard for managing projects in tools such as Linear, covering structure, tagging, milestone usage, and program-level visibility.
• Drive dependency planning and launch preparedness for large, multi-team initiatives that touch several engineering groups and downstream business teams.
• Develop visibility mechanisms that let leadership assess execution health without creating unnecessary overhead for delivery teams.
• Work closely with Engineering Managers and functional leaders to reinforce accountability and ensure TPMs support delivery systems rather than replacing team ownership.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of experience in Technical Program Management or a comparable delivery leadership role within fast-growing, distributed software companies.
• Demonstrated ability to build, scale, or transform a TPM function, including leadership of senior TPMs and establishment of organizational standards.
• Strong technical literacy with the ability to understand architecture, weigh engineering trade-offs, and communicate effectively with senior engineering stakeholders.
• Clear success in designing and running cross-functional execution systems connecting engineering with go-to-market or customer-facing teams.
• Substantial experience with program and project tools such as Linear or Jira, including creating or enforcing operating standards across multiple teams.
• A well-formed perspective on the distinction between TPM and PMO responsibilities, with the discipline to avoid purely administrative models.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills, especially in asynchronous and globally distributed working environments.
• High ownership, strong judgment, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders without formal authority.
