Role overview
Abu Dhabi Aviation is looking for a Security Officer to help oversee and manage security activities across the company. In this position, you will help safeguard staff, buildings, equipment, and other assets by applying security rules, controlling entry, carrying out patrols and checks, handling incidents, and supporting adherence to GCAA requirements as well as the company’s internal security framework.
What you will do
- Assist with the daily running and administrative work of the Security Department.
- Contribute to building, updating, and improving security policies, operating procedures, and work instructions.
- Liaise with relevant government agencies and regulators to help maintain compliance with required security standards.
- Carry out routine patrols and inspections of facilities, equipment, and restricted zones to support a safe and controlled environment.
- Observe CCTV and other security systems to spot, escalate, and respond to suspicious behavior or security violations.
- Assess security risks and suggest practical corrective and preventive actions.
- Allow access to premises and restricted areas only to approved personnel, following established controls.
- Look into security incidents and prepare clear, accurate reports so they are properly recorded and shared with management.
- Track compliance with security rules, including attendance control, visitor handling, and access management.
- Deliver security awareness talks and training sessions to strengthen employee compliance.
- Work with internal teams to address security needs and support day-to-day operations.
- React quickly to alarms, incidents, emergencies, and other urgent security situations.
- Manage vehicle and pedestrian movement on company property to help protect people and assets.
- Check physical security systems and keep proper records, flagging any issues for corrective follow-up.
- Keep up with changes in security practices, technologies, and regulations to support ongoing improvement.
- Follow the company’s HSE policies, SOPs, and all applicable security rules.
- Take on any other duties assigned by management based on operational requirements.
Candidate profile
The ideal applicant should hold a high school diploma and bring at least 3 years of experience working as a Security Officer or Security Guard. Knowledge of security laws, regulations, and public safety practices is essential. Experience in the aviation sector is a plus, as is familiarity with company procedures and security protocols. Strong communication skills, solid conflict-handling ability, and the ability to work well with others are important. Written and spoken English proficiency is required, while Arabic language skills will be an advantage. A qualification in conflict management or a similar field is also considered beneficial.
Additional information
This role requires close attention to compliance with GCAA regulations, HSE policies, SOPs, and internal security standards. The position also involves collaboration with government authorities, monitoring of access control, incident handling, and continual improvement of security operations.
