Sanitary Sewer System Technician

Role overview

We are looking for a Sanitary Sewer System Technician to manage the operation, upkeep, inspection, and repair of sanitary sewer assets. The role supports safe, dependable, and efficient wastewater handling across the assigned location in Qatar.

Core duties

• Install, service, repair, and inspect sanitary sewer lines, manholes, lift stations, and related wastewater infrastructure.
• Diagnose and fix difficult sewer and plumbing problems, including clogs, leaks, and damaged pipes.
• Carry out preventive maintenance activities to reduce emergency work and limit service interruptions.
• Use and look after sewer operation tools and equipment such as jetting trucks, vacuum trucks, video inspection cameras, and pipe locators.
• Follow all applicable federal, state, and local rules covering wastewater operations and sewer safety.
• Keep detailed and accurate logs of inspections, maintenance tasks, and repair work completed on sewer systems.
• Respond to urgent sewer-related calls, including incidents outside normal working hours.
• Work closely with coworkers, contractors, and members of the public to organize sewer work safely and efficiently.
• Observe all safety procedures, including confined space entry practices and the handling of hazardous materials.

Education and experience

• A high school diploma or an equivalent qualification is required.
• The candidate must currently hold a Master Plumber or Journeyman Plumber status.
• At least 5 years of experience in wastewater or sanitary sewer systems is needed.
• Strong working knowledge of wastewater treatment, sewer maintenance methods, and plumbing codes is expected.
• Experience using sewer inspection and maintenance equipment is required.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics is necessary.

Additional requirements

• A valid U.S. driver’s license is mandatory.
• A valid U.S. passport is preferred.
• The role requires the ability to satisfy all current USCENTCOM deployment policy requirements, as referenced in the USCENTCOM APR 23 MOD EIGHTEEN TO USCENTCOM INDIVIDUAL AND INDIVIDUAL-UNIT DEPLOYMENT POLICY.
• The selected candidate must be able to obtain and keep a valid Qatar residency visa.
• Applicants should be comfortable working in harsh environmental conditions, including dust and high heat.
• The job may involve long working hours and exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
• Travel is 100% in the deployed location.
• A DoD Secret Clearance is required and must be maintained.
