Role overview
A life sciences employer in Waterford is seeking a Project Manager for an initial 12-month contract. The role focuses on leading projects from planning through delivery, coordinating stakeholders across functions and sites, and keeping scope, time, cost, and quality under control.
Key responsibilities
- Guide cross-functional teams operating across multiple sites during project launch and business integration activities.
- Turn customer requirements into clear, approved statements of project scope.
- Partner with functional leaders to define the resources needed for delivery.
- Create detailed project plans and manage task execution against the agreed scope, timeline, and budget.
- Hold regular project meetings to steer progress, maintain scope discipline, and support on-time completion.
- Build and run a communication plan that keeps stakeholders and sites aligned and informed.
- Identify project risks, assess their impact, put responses in place, and track mitigations to reduce business disruption.
- Support cost forecasting, prepare budget estimates, and ensure spending stays aligned to the approved budget.
- Manage stakeholders by understanding expectations, evaluating their influence on the project, and applying suitable engagement strategies.
- Handle selected GMP documentation in line with site procedures and complete the required GMP system training, including change control processes.
Requirements
- Background in the biopharma sector in a project leadership capacity.
- Qualification at degree level in Science, Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Proven experience managing projects or programmes in drug substance or drug product environments.
- Project management certification such as PMI or an equivalent credential.
- Practical working knowledge of cGMP and GLP standards.
