Payroll Analytics Lead

Role overview

This permanent full-time role is based in Wellington and sits within the Regional Finance team for the Central Region. The position focuses on improving payroll and workforce analytics across a large, complex health system, helping shape better decisions through clearer reporting and stronger insights.

As the Regional Finance Payroll Analytics Lead, you will help build a consistent regional approach to payroll reporting and analysis across multiple districts and services. The role is designed to strengthen capability, improve the quality and value of payroll data, and support the wider organisation with reliable information for planning and performance.

Key responsibilities

You will lead the coordination of district-level reporting and analytics, creating a more unified approach across the region. A major part of the job is to develop and embed reporting frameworks, establish a trusted single source of truth for payroll performance, and deliver insights that support executive-level decisions.

In this role, you will work closely with Finance, Payroll, People & Culture, and operational teams to identify patterns, risks, and improvement opportunities. You will also contribute to ongoing enhancement in reporting quality, benchmarking, and data governance, while supporting major workforce programmes with both predictive and historical analysis.
