About the Company
C&D Foods is a major European producer of own-label pet food, manufacturing both wet and dry products. The business has expanded into a large international operation with nine production sites across seven countries, along with sales offices in Manchester and Italy. Its headquarters are based in Mullingar, County Westmeath.
Role Overview
The Edgeworthstown site in County Longford is looking for a Payroll Administrator who is well organised, highly accurate, and comfortable working with detailed payroll data. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be part of a team responsible for the full payroll cycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the preparation and processing of the weekly payroll run.
- Create and review payroll analysis reports.
- Enter payroll information correctly and on time, including new starters, leavers, tax updates, and other employment-related changes.
- Handle employee queries relating to payroll.
- Issue payslips and prepare payroll-related tax, social welfare, and other supporting documents.
- Submit monthly returns to Revenue through ROS so employer obligations are completed in line with Revenue rules.
- Work out holiday pay and sick pay, and resolve associated queries.
- Keep payroll records updated for new joiners and leavers.
- Coordinate weekly with employment agencies in relation to temporary workers, including hours worked, holidays, and sick pay.
- Protect the confidentiality of sensitive records and information.
- Carry out other tasks as required.
Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate should have 1 to 3 years of payroll experience, and experience using Sage Payroll Software would be an advantage. Strong time management is needed to meet strict deadlines, along with the ability to work independently, prioritise effectively, and communicate clearly in writing and verbally. Good interpersonal skills are important for dealing with people at all levels, and strong organisational ability is essential for managing both urgent and longer-term priorities.
