DB Breweries is hiring a Packaging Technician to join its Waitematā Brewery team in Auckland. This permanent full-time role sits within the packaging function and focuses on keeping beer, cider, and RTD products moving through the line safely, efficiently, and at the expected quality standard.

What the role involves
This is a practical, fast-moving role for someone who likes being hands-on, works safely, and takes pride in keeping equipment running smoothly. The technician supports production by maintaining machinery, protecting product quality, and helping the team hit output targets.
Key responsibilities
- Run, service, and continuously improve packaging equipment so production goals are met
- Ensure products consistently meet safety and quality requirements
- Participate in the TPM continuous improvement programme, using methods such as 5S and Kaizen to lift performance and cut waste
- Complete reactive and planned maintenance work within expected timeframes
- Coordinate with planning, maintenance, and logistics teams to support uninterrupted operations
- Maintain and update standard operating procedures, and assist with training for colleagues
- Adapt across different packaging areas when required
What you need
- A trade background in mechanics or electrical work, such as NZCE, an Advanced Trade Certificate, or an equivalent qualification
- Between 3 and 5 years of experience in packaging or maintenance work within brewing, FMCG, or food and beverage settings
- Practical experience with maintenance systems and continuous improvement approaches
- Comfort using digital tools such as phones, tablets, email, online training platforms, and basic data or issue-tracking systems
- Good attention to detail and strong verbal and written communication skills
- A collaborative mindset and a positive attitude toward teamwork
- Willingness to learn new things and pass on knowledge to others

This position is based at Waitematā Brewery in Auckland and is a permanent, full-time contract. Candidates from recruitment agencies are not being considered for this vacancy.
