This Mechanical Maintenance Technician position is based in Newcastle West, County Limerick, Ireland. The role sits within a maintenance team that provides shift support across a 24/7 operation and requires work to be completed to company standards.
Role overview
The successful candidate will help engineering site teams use resources effectively so the site can meet safety, productivity, quality, cost and service goals while maintaining strong engagement and morale. The role also supports delivery of site OEE targets and improvement activity.
Responsibilities
- Partner with engineering and operations colleagues to achieve agreed OEE goals, using the relevant tools, methods and governance processes.
- Contribute to better line performance by reviewing run rates, changeovers and SKU sequencing.
- Take an active role in driving OEE and continuous improvement across operating practices and equipment.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance in line with schedule and record completion in SAP CMMS.
- Respond to unplanned breakdowns, document corrective actions, and assist in follow-up actions and reviews.
- Prepare accurate and detailed shift handover records.
Requirements
- Hands-on engineering, technical or facilities maintenance experience with a strong record of service delivery is an advantage.
- Prior experience in a strategic, performance-led manufacturing environment measured by KPIs.
- Practical understanding of health, safety and environmental legislation and how to apply it.
- Mechanical experience is preferred, though candidates with both mechanical and electrical skills and a proactive attitude will also be considered.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capability.
- Exposure to PLC and SCADA systems would be beneficial.

Education and experience
