The organisation partners with government, industry, philanthropy, and knowledge institutions to shape evidence-led solutions that align with the vision of a Viksit Bharat.
Role Summary
PIF is looking for an energetic, creative, and self-reliant Manager – Communications & Events with 5–6 years of practical experience in communications, digital content, and event management. This role is suited to someone who can confidently lead external communications, social media, brand messaging, and stakeholder events while balancing strategy with strong hands-on execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and implement an integrated communications plan across digital, print, and media channels, keeping messaging clear, consistent, and aligned with organisational goals.
- Develop, refine, and deliver content across multiple formats, including press releases, opinion pieces, policy briefs, newsletters, website content, annual reports, and donor-facing communications.
- Turn complex policy research into engaging and easy-to-understand narratives for policymakers, donors, media professionals, and broader audiences.
- Manage the editorial schedule and ensure content is published on time across all relevant platforms and campaigns.
- Independently oversee PIF’s social media presence on LinkedIn, X/Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube, with platform-specific plans aimed at improving engagement, visibility, and audience quality.
- Create and publish regular posts, reels, carousels, and campaign creatives using Canva, Adobe Express, or similar tools.
- Review analytics regularly, interpret performance trends, and adjust content plans to strengthen reach and engagement.
- Monitor emerging social media trends and policy conversations so content remains timely, relevant, and impactful.
- Plan and run events such as policy roundtables, panel discussions, thought-leadership summits, donor convenings, and webinars, managing end-to-end logistics.
- Coordinate invitations, speakers, venue arrangements, audiovisual requirements, programme flow, live social coverage, and post-event communication.
- Produce event communication materials such as banners, agendas, social media creatives, post-event reports, and highlight reels.
- Represent the organisation at external forums, conferences, and networking events to strengthen visibility and relationships.
- Develop and maintain relationships with journalists, editors, and media contacts covering policy, development, and governance.
- Pitch stories, opinion articles, and expert commentary to expand earned media coverage.
- Track press coverage, maintain media logs and databases, and prepare coverage reports and press clippings.
- Create talking points, media notes, and public communication material for senior leadership.
- Work with fundraising and partnerships teams to create donor-facing assets such as impact reports, pitch decks, case studies, and stewardship communications.
- Keep messaging consistent across CSR proposals, grant applications, and partner communications.
- Use AI-based writing and design tools to improve speed, quality, and scale while maintaining brand standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- A master’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing, Design, or a related discipline.
- 5–6 years of hands-on experience in communications, content strategy, social media management, or digital marketing, preferably in a think tank, NGO, consulting firm, media organisation, or public affairs agency.
- Strong English writing, editing, and copywriting ability, with the flexibility to adapt tone and style across policy, donor, and social media formats.
- Good command of graphic design tools, especially Canva; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign, is a strong advantage.
- Evidence of managing organisational social media accounts with measurable growth in reach and engagement; a portfolio of previous work is required.
- Clear understanding of digital communications, content marketing, social media analytics, and SEO basics.
- Experience planning and delivering professional events such as policy forums, webinars, panel discussions, or stakeholder convenings with limited supervision.
- Comfort using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Canva AI, and scheduling/analytics platforms to improve productivity and output quality.
- Highly organised, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities independently while consistently meeting deadlines and quality standards.
What We Offer
- The opportunity to shape communications for one of India’s prominent public policy organisations.
- Exposure to senior stakeholders from national and international backgrounds across government, philanthropy, and academia.
- A collaborative, mission-oriented work culture with room for creativity, ownership, and professional growth.
