Logistics Officer

About the role

The Internal Security Department (ISD) plays a key role in protecting Singapore’s internal security, sovereignty, and stability. For more than 75 years, ISD and the organizations that preceded it have helped counter threats from foreign subversive elements, espionage, racial and religious extremism, and terrorism. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to that mission through logistics planning, service improvement, and operational support.

Key responsibilities

• Gather feedback from users through surveys and assess their needs, trends, operating patterns, and market conditions to improve the overall user experience.
• Work closely with internal teams and outside partners to coordinate logistics-related activities.
• Apply Design Thinking principles to strengthen service quality and user satisfaction.
• Explore and implement new logistics approaches that improve efficiency and simplify processes.
• Build end-to-end logistics solutions covering transport, supplies, and related services.
• Coordinate logistics arrangements for large-scale events and operational activities.
• Prepare and maintain operational records and documentation for logistics services.
• Support procurement activities and help manage related risks.
• Plan and coordinate supply chain operations to ensure they are delivered on time.
• Oversee contracts and supply arrangements to support uninterrupted business operations.
• Digitise processes to create a smoother user experience and improve effectiveness.
• Collect and review data to generate consumption insights and identify areas for improvement.

Candidate profile

• Prior exposure to Design Thinking, business process review, procurement, supply chain work, and digitalisation is an advantage.
• Must be self-motivated, analytical, methodical, and detail-oriented.
• Able to work effectively both on your own and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities are needed.
• Good planning and organisational skills are important.
• Should be able to stay resilient and perform well under pressure.
