About the Role

This position is for an L&D Specialist who will own the planning, delivery, and ongoing refinement of learning and development initiatives across the organization. The role is central to connecting training with business priorities, building employee capability, and encouraging a strong culture of continuous learning.

You will collaborate with leaders, employees, and external partners to understand development needs, create effective learning interventions, and assess their impact so the workforce is prepared to perform successfully both now and in the future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and improve end-to-end training programs, including onboarding, leadership development, skills-based learning, and role-specific development paths.
  • Lead interactive learning sessions and workshops in both classroom and virtual formats, supporting strong engagement and practical knowledge retention.
  • Carry out learning needs assessments regularly to identify capability gaps across teams, functions, and seniority levels.
  • Administer the learning management system, keeping content updated, easy to access, and actively used.

  • Work with department leaders and subject matter experts to ensure learning solutions are relevant, practical, and aligned with operational requirements.
  • Make sure all learning initiatives meet regulatory, safety, ethics, and industry standards, especially in a healthcare setting.
  • Plan and control the L&D budget while balancing quality with cost efficiency.
  • Support employee growth through coaching, career development guidance, and targeted learning support.
  • Identify, assess, and manage external training vendors, including contracts and service delivery oversight.
  • Prepare periodic reports on training activity, participation, outcomes, and effectiveness to support informed decisions.
  • Guide L&D team members and help them maintain high performance and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications and Experience

A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or a related discipline is preferred. A master’s degree is an advantage.

If a bachelor’s degree is not held, a diploma or associate degree can be accepted when paired with four years of relevant experience.

At least 3 years of experience in a comparable Learning & Development role is required. Experience in healthcare is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate should have a proven background in designing, delivering, and evaluating learning programs in a corporate or organizational environment, along with prior exposure to managing or leading a team.

Skills and Competencies

The role calls for a strong understanding of adult learning, instructional design, and training methods. Practical experience with LMS platforms, e-learning tools, and digital learning technologies is essential. The candidate should also bring excellent project coordination, strong organization, confident facilitation, stakeholder management, and leadership abilities.
