Overview
An established organization in Abu Dhabi, UAE is seeking a Laboratory Technician with a Chemical Engineering background for a 12-month renewable contract. The role is suited to someone who can manage day-to-day laboratory readiness, support academic or practical sessions, and keep equipment and records in good order.

What the Role Involves
- Set up laboratories before practical classes and hands-on sessions.
- Assist instructors, faculty members, and students during lab activities.
- Oversee the upkeep of laboratory instruments, including calibration, inspection, troubleshooting, servicing, and minor repairs.
- Track lab supplies and stock, and help process procurement requests when items need to be ordered.
- Follow and enforce laboratory health and safety requirements at all times.
- Keep maintenance files, calibration registers, and other lab-related documentation updated.
- Contribute to student projects, workshops, and wider departmental tasks as needed.
Candidate Profile
The employer is looking for a technician with 5 to 8 years of relevant experience. Prior UAE experience is mandatory. A strong working understanding of laboratory installations, maintenance processes, equipment calibration, fault-finding, and safety practices is required. Experience supporting practical laboratory teaching sessions and handling inventory management will be important for success in this position.
