Position Summary
The AI Policy Network (AIPN) is seeking a motivated Junior Associate to join its growing team and support research, operations, and administration. This entry-level opportunity is designed for someone at the start of their career who wants to work where technology, public policy, and national security overlap, while learning from experienced defense leaders, AI specialists, and legislative experts.
Location
Washington, D.C.
Compensation
The role offers annual pay in the range of $55,000 to $75,000.

Responsibilities
- Carry out research on AI policy updates, committee work, and emerging AI governance developments, and turn findings into memos and briefing materials.
- Assist with organizing Hill briefings, donor meetings, and online webinars, including travel arrangements, calendars, and expense records.
- Keep CRM records and contact lists accurate and up to date.
- Prepare social media copy, newsletters, and website content, and review policy briefs for clarity and errors.
- Track important AI news in real time and alert senior team members to urgent developments.
- Support the Executive Director and other senior leaders with day-to-day administrative needs.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Computer Science, or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Excellent written communication and analytical thinking skills, along with comfort using Google Workspace tools.
- Demonstrated interest in AI, technology policy, or national security topics.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others.
- A proactive, self-starting attitude and the flexibility to handle varied tasks in a fast-moving environment.
Work Environment
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Washington, D.C.
