Role overview

This part-time in-store role focuses on keeping stock records accurate and the retail floor organized. The main objective is to maintain inventory integrity through regular cycle counts of both sales-floor and backroom merchandise, identify mismatches, and complete corrections when needed. The position also includes preparing out-of-stock reports, reviewing negative on-hand situations, and handling other inventory-related checks and reports as assigned.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out cycle counts for merchandise on the sales floor and in the stockroom.
• Research inventory discrepancies and process adjustments using internal systems.
• Manage the scanned-out process.
• Review and investigate negative on-hand reports.
• Handle theft-related adjustments, empty-package cases, quantity-exceeds issues, and stock adjustment requests.
• Update and fine-tune sales-floor minimums, maximums, and replenishment flags.
• Support shoppers on the sales floor by helping them locate products and make purchase decisions when the store is open.
• Take on additional duties as assigned by management and the team lead.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of retail experience in warehouse or inventory management.
• High school diploma or an equivalent credential.
• Comfort using a personal computer and common software tools such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Strong attention to detail to keep work accurate.
• Sound judgment and logical thinking.
• Background in a related field or an outdoor-lifestyle environment is an advantage.
• Familiarity with Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s product lines is considered a plus.
