Ignition SCADA Engineer

Role overview

Capgemini is hiring a SCADA Engineer with specialization in the Ignition platform to support industrial automation and smart factory initiatives. This role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining SCADA solutions that help manufacturing and industrial clients advance their digital transformation and OT capabilities.

Location

This position is based in one of the following cities: Bangalore, Pune, Mumbai, Chennai, or Hyderabad.

Experience

The role calls for 4 to 6 years of overall experience, including at least 3 years of hands-on work in Ignition SCADA development.

Key technical requirements

The ideal candidate should be well-versed in Ignition Perspective and Vision, tag architecture, UDT creation, scripting, PLC connectivity, and historian/alarm configuration. The role also requires familiarity with industrial communication standards such as OPC UA, MQTT, and Kepware, along with backend integration and API-based connectivity.

Additional capabilities

Candidates should bring practical experience in Python/Jython scripting, REST integrations, SQL with PostgreSQL, and structured data handling. A good grasp of SCADA user interface design, software engineering practices, SDLC workflows, and code quality standards is also expected.
