Role Overview
The HSE Inspector will be responsible for ensuring that project activities follow health, safety, and environmental standards, while helping build a strong safety-focused culture across sites and teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine site inspections and audits to confirm compliance with HSE rules and internal policies.
- Spot hazards early and make sure corrective measures are put in place.
- Track project work to ensure health, safety, and environmental requirements are consistently followed.
- Assess safety plans and risk evaluations for different projects.
- Deliver HSE training and awareness sessions for employees and subcontractors to strengthen safety behavior.
- Examine accidents, incidents, and near misses to identify root causes and suggest preventive actions.
- Compile clear reports covering inspection results, corrective actions, and HSE performance data.
- Coordinate with government and regulatory bodies to secure and maintain required permits and licenses.
- Keep up with updates in HSE laws and standards and apply necessary policy changes.
- Help design and implement project risk management measures.
- Support emergency preparedness planning, including drills and training activities.
- Work closely with project managers and team leads to integrate HSE practices into daily operations.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably in construction, civil, or a related discipline.
- Professional HSE certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or OSHA are preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in HSE functions on building, road, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
- Strong familiarity with Saudi Arabian HSE rules as well as international safety standards.
