Role overview
Great National Ballykisteen Golf Hotel is looking for an energetic and dependable Hotel Receptionist to serve as the first contact for guests on a part-time, on-site basis. The hotel has also received Quality Employer Certification from the Irish Hotels Federation, reflecting its focus on being a quality employer and investing in employee development.
Key duties
- Welcome guests warmly when they arrive at the hotel.
- Handle guest check-ins and check-outs while making sure all required details are accurately captured.
- Explain hotel facilities to guests, including opening times, service timings, and nearby attractions or amenities.
- Prepare guest bills, verify accuracy, and process payments according to hotel procedures.
- Work closely with colleagues across departments to support smooth day-to-day operations.
- Coordinate regularly with the accommodation team and keep them informed, especially regarding room status updates.
- Respond to questions, complaints, requests, and general enquiries in a courteous and professional way.
- Support follow-up for group bookings, package offers, and similar guest arrangements.
- Communicate with the accounts team to ensure billing is accurate.
- Plan ahead by reviewing future business and confirming reservations.
- Monitor incoming emails and complete any needed booking actions.
Candidate profile
- Prior hotel reception experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with Guestline is a plus.
- Strong communication and customer service abilities are essential.
- The ideal candidate should be open to learning, comfortable asking questions, and willing to follow up on issues and enquiries.
- Clear English communication is required.
- The role calls for someone who consistently presents the hotel in a professional manner.
